what is the difference between Yarn and fabric?

You are given two kind of fibres. How do yoy identify which one is synthetic and which one is natural fibre?

How do you check pure wool purity?

1)A cloth is a flexible woven material consisting of network of natural or artificial fibres is referred to as thread or  yarn. Yarn is produced by spinning raw fibres of wool, flax or cotton.

Fabric is a cloth typically produced by weaving or knitting fibres.

2)Fibres are classified into two types

  1. Natural fibres (Plant fibres and Animal fibres) 2.  Synthetic fibres.
  • Plant fibres are obtained from plants. e.g., jute.
  • Animal fibres are obtained from animals, e.g., silk and wool.
  • Fibres which are made by the human are Man-made or Synthetic Fibres, e.g., Rayon.
3)The most widely used method is the fire test where in a wool thread is bought in contact with lighted match-stick,pure wool will not catch fire whereas adulterated wool will as it contains man-made polymers which melt easily.
