WHAT IS THE DIFFERENT BETWEEN ' A FEW AND THE FEW', 'A LITTLE AND THE LITTLE' ?
Dear Student,
'Few' is used for things that can be counted, whereas 'little' is used for things that cannot be counted.
'A few' gives a specific meaning to things, for example, "I have a few pens" indicates that I do not have many pens but whatever number of pens I have, I am satisifed with it. On the other hand, "I have few pens" indicates that I am not satisfied with the number of pens I have.
'A little' is used in the same way as 'a few' though it is used for uncountable things.
Hope this answers your question.
Best wishes!
