What is the Egyptian Mummy project? How successful has it been?

The Egyptian Mummy Project was a project which began in 2003 to create an inventory of the mummies of Egypt. It had successfully recorded almost 600 mummies. In the second phase of the project, the mummies were CT scanned. The mummy of King Tut was one of the first mummies to be CT scanned.
