WHAT IS THE FUNCTION OF MUCUS???

Dear Student!

Mucus in the respiratory passage traps any particles, such as dust and bacteria that have managed to pass through the hairs of the nostrils. The trapped particles are then carried to the back of the buccal cavity where this mucus is either swallowed or thrown out through mouth.
