What is the function of secretin and cholecystokinin?... what is meant bysuccus entericus...? ????
Dear student, Secretin is a peptide hormone in our body ,and it regulates the water homeostasis in our body, other than influencing the condition and the environment of the duodenum by the regulation of the secretion of enzymes by the stomach and the pancreas. It also controls the pH level by inhibiting the secretion of gastric juices in the stomach and stimulating the production of sodiu m bicarbonate in the liver. Also,it plays a crucial role in osmoregulation by influencing the kidney, pituitary and the hypothalamus. Cholecystokinin is previously known as a pancreozymin. It is a peptide hormone released in the gastrointestinal tract for stimulating the digestion of fat and protein. Intestinal juice is called as succus entericus. It is the secreted by the glands of intestine and aids in digestion. Thanks and regards
