WHAT IS THE IMPORTANCE OF CAPPING AND TAILING DURING TRANSCRIPTION ?

5' capping with methyl guanosine triphosphate and   3' tailing with adenylate residues (200 – 300residue) are the additional processing which the hnRNA needs to undergo after splicing so as to become functional mRNA. These processings are necessary for nuclear export, translation, and stability of mRNA.

It is important as after capping and tailing process the inactive hn-RNA i.e heterogenous RNA (precursor of m-RNA ) changes to active m-RNA . this happens in eukaryote organisms :)
