Why is the lithosphere important

lithosphere provides us with soil for agriculture and land surface which can be put to a variety of uses, for eg human settlements. It also provide us with a variety of rocks and minerals which are useful to us

Without the soil cover there would have been any plant on the earth

This is a pretty vague question but maybe it's best to say what the lithosphere is first...

The lithosphere is the solid outer layer of the Earth including the crust and upper mantle.

We live at the boundry between the lithosphere and the atmosphere.. i.e. the surface of the planet.  We have never manage to drill deep enough to get to the underlying asthenosphere... and with the exception of astronaughts we've never gone high enough to leave the atmosphere.. so the lithosphere and atmosphere contains everything we need to live.

Personally I find the lithosphere important because I'd don't fancy standing on molten rock!

Hope this helps! :)

The lithosphere is largely important because it is the area that the biosphere (the living things on earth) inhabit and live upon.
