Dear Student, your friend is right. Oceans are the largest ecosystem on earth. As they cover 70% of the earth, they contribute to the largest ecosystem.

The ecosystem which is present on land constituent the terrestrial ecosystem like grasslands, tundra, desserts, temperate forests etc.
