1. when we sit for long time keeping our legs crossed we find that our legs become numb and they won't work for some time, similarily, here the people were making bangles from so many years that they don't know anything other than making bangles. they just live in that place of miseries. mukesh though dreams of driving a car can't drive it because their family believes that bangle making is a caste. so he won't be allowed to do anything other than what he is supposed to do. their minds bacame numb because they believe in supestitions. since their minds are now numb with all the dust in their eyes, no one ever becomes a leader(in them).
2. as we see in the lesson, mukesh's grandmother says that they are born in a bangle makers caste so it is their karma. even if mukesh insists, their family members won't allow him to do anything other than bangle making. due to years of mind numbing, they don't / rather say can't dream for big things. so it is said that, if mukesh wants to do something else it would mean that he is daring but daring is not a part of his life because people there are having their minds numbed from many years.
