The father in the poem “Father to Son”, takes the responsibility of how his son had grown up to be. The chasm between them grew because of the generation gap.The values that he had instilled in his son , that is , the seeds he had sown , did not grow up to be like himself. The son has grown up and followed his life according to his interests and needs and they shared no common passion or interests.
