what is the meaning percentage bar diagrams?

The presentation of sub-divided bar diagrams in the form of percentages is known as Percentage Bar Diagrams. The purpose behind using such diagrams is to compare the relative change in the percentages. For using such form of diagrams, the length of each bar diagram is kept equal to 100%. Moreover, the value of the variable is assumed to be 100 and the segments are further converted into percentages. After this, all the percentages are added to give the sum of 100. Thereafter, various segments are cut according to their percentage values.

For example, considering the income of two families spent on different items such as food, clothing, rent, medicines etc. in the percentage form. The presentation of such income in the form of percentage bar diagram is as follows:
