It is not a moral story. It is a glimpse of the Diary of Ruskin Bond. I can give you a summary if you want. Throughout the monsoon months, the author describes the nature, the weather and how he finds the rain to be. At the start of monsoon, the whole atmosphere gets covered in mist and besides, an uncanny silence prevails as the birds in the hill fall silent. The mist blankets the hill station. He is not able to see his friend Bijju because of the mist. A school boy asks him to describe this nature and he says,"A paradise that might have been. .....". He has nothing to do at home as the rain does not allow him to get out of his house. This is when he has nothing to do rather than pace about in his room. He describes the birds and creatures present before him. The unaccountable springing of leaks from his tin roof gives him a feeling of being untouched by yet in touch with the rain. Also, grandmother forbades the children from killing the chuchundar hiding here and there as she believes that they are lucky and will provide monetary gain. As the monsoon season comes to an end, he can see the cobra lily rising his heads from the ferns and it's seeds turning red.

Its not a moral story atall because the diary stories say about a person's life not any teachings or morals.
Hope this clarifies you of the difference between diary stories and moral stories.
