What is the nature of the new product which is formed by the action of water on quick lime?
Quick lime reacts vigorously with water to give slaked lime. the reaction is given below
CaO+H2O ---------- Ca(OH)2
thus the nature of slaked lime(new product formed after the reaction of quik lime with water) is basic.
