What is the normal reaction force proportional to when a block pulled with a spring balance showing a reading of 5 Newton?

Dear Student,
Here in the question direction of applied force not given .  Without direction of applied force
it is difficult to find normal force .
Suppose if applied force is horizontal then  normal  reaction force on  body is its weight .
other wise ''weight -vertical component of applied force '' will be normal reaction  force .
And if friction is there then applied force (in horizontal assuming ) =μ.N
Regards
