what is the protections on the body of Amoeba called?

Dear student
In case of unfavourable conditions, amoeba rolls into a ball and forms a protective layer called- cyst around itself.
A cyst is a resting or dormant stage of a microorganism, usually a bacterium or a protist or rarely an invertebrate animal, that helps the organism to survive in unfavourable environmental conditions. During the formation of the cyst, the metabolic processes of the cell are slowed down and the cell ceases all activities like feeding and locomotion.

Hope this helps!
