What is the role of cervix in the female reproductive system?
The cervix is the lower most part of the uterus and is made up of strong muscles.
Functions of cervix:
- It allows flow of menstrual blood from the uterus into the vagina
- It directs the sperms into the uterus during intercourse.
- It opens widely to about 4 inches during labor, to allow the birth of a baby.
- It provides support for the uterus.
