What is the role of spinster muscle in stomach?

Dear student,
Please find below the answer:

There are about 50 different types of sphincter muscles found in different locations such as eyes, anus, stomach, etc in the human body. Sphincter muscles are found around an orifice or opening or bodily passage in the human body that helps to contract or expand that orifice or opening in response to a particular physiological response. One of the most important sphincter muscles found in the lower part of the stomach called pyloric sphincter muscle.

The pyloric sphincter is a band of smooth muscle at the junction between the pylorus of the stomach and the duodenum of the small intestine. It plays an important role in digestion, where it acts as a valve to controls the flow of partially digested food from the stomach to the small intestine.

Hope this clears your doubt.
Regards.

Dear student,

The pyloric sphincter serves as a kind of gateway between the stomach and the small intestine. It allows the contents of the stomach to pass into the small intestine. It also prevents partially digested food and digestive juices from reentering the stomach.

Regards!
