what is the theme of the ch- on the face of it?

This chapter shows us the pain, isolation and suffering that the handicapped go through. The society's callous behaviour towards them makes them more isolated and withdrawn. We learn about Mr Lamb who thinks that beauty was relative and your world is where you are. Through this story the writer brings out the fact that each and every human is different but has some quality that is special.
