What is the underlying idea of the poem Fire and Ice ?

This poem is totally based on nature. The poet want to say that fire means desire and greedy these both word means jealousy for example a mam having BMW but by seeing other car he also want that car only and in this poem the fire stands for coldness and hatred for example some became insensitive and indifferent means the two man are becoming jealous on each other
