what is the value of acceleration due to gravity at height equal to half the radius of earth from surface of earth. (take g = 10 m/s^2

g = GM/R^2 = 10   ...........( where R is radius of circle and M is mass of Earth and Gis gravitational constant and g is acc. due to gravity)
new R will be R+R/2
g' = GM/(R+R/2)^2
g' = GM/R^2(1+1/2)^2
g' = 10/(1+1/2)^2
g' = 10/(3/2)^2
g' = 10 x 4 / 9
g' = 40/9
g' = 4.44 m/s^2
