Dear Student, Proximal Convoluted Tubule is present in nephron of the kidney after bowman's capsule. It is present near bowman's capsule, that's why it is known as proximal. Proximal tubule helps in reabsorption of sodium, potassium, urea, phosphate and organic solutes(like glucose and amino acids) into blood while it secretes ammonium ions and bicarbonate ions into urine.
