What is this Base pare please explain experts

Dear Student,

Base pairs are the building units of DNA. Purines and Pyrimidines are two types of nitrogen containing bases.   Purines consist of two rings (six-membered and a five-membered nitrogen-containing ring), fused together.

Pyridmidines have only a six-membered nitrogen-containing ring.  One turn of DNA has 10 base pairs. Distance between 2 base pairs is 3.4 A & hence length one turn is about 34 A.
