what is threshing
The process of separating grains from stalks by beating them with sticks is called threshing. In this process, the stalks are beaten to free the grain seeds. After a harvest, wheat or paddy stalks are dried in the sun. Each stalk contains many grains. Hence, farmers make bundles of the stalks and then beat them with sticks to separate the grains. Sometimes, threshing is done with the help of bullocks. Machines are also used to thresh large quantities of grain.
