  • TORRID ZONE : Lies between the tropic of cancer and tropic of capricorn ( 23 nd half degree N and 23 nd half degree S ). As the sun rays fall vertically through out the year this zone receives maximum heat .The word TORRID mean 'hot'.
  • TEMPERATE ZONE : Lies between the tropic of cancer and Arctic circle in northern hemisphere and between the tropic of capricorn and Antartic circle in Sourthern hemisphere . TEMPERATE means 'moderate' .
  • FRIGID ZONE : Lies between the Artic circle and north pole in the northern hemisphere and between the Antartic and South Pole in the Southern Hemisphere. The rays of the sun very much on a slant and hardly rise above the horizon . as a result the region remans cold. FRIGID means 'cold'.

temprate zone- theae are 2 zones lying at 66.5 degree n and south the temprature is mid throuout the year

frigid zone- these zones lies at 98.5 degree n and 98.5 degree s the temprature is totally cold throughout the year
