What is UN guidelines for consumer protection
In 1985 the UN adopted the UN Guidelines for Consumer Protection . Some of its objectives are:
a. To help countries in achieving adequate protection for their population as consumers.
b. To regulate production and distribution criteria responsive to the needs and desires of consumers.
c. To facilitate the development of individual consumer groups.
d. To facilitate the growth of markets which provides consumers wider choices at reasonable rates.
e. To encourage high level of ethical conducts to those who are involved in the production and distribution of goods to the consumers.
