What is vocationalisation of education?

Vocationalisation of education refers to the procedure of altering the current educational curriculum in such a manner that the skill sets imparted to the students pursuing it can help the students to get employment or jobs after completing it.

Vocationalisation of education is necessary:

a) To develop skilled manpower through diversified courses to meet the requirements of mainly the unorganised sector and to in still self- employment skills in people through a large number of self employment oriented courses.
b)To prepare students for identified vocations spanning several areas of activity.
c)To build up a formidable work force of international quality.
