What makes the zone of flame appear blue
Dear student,
The different zones present in a candle flame are as follows.
1. Innermost zone or the luminous zone (Black or grey)
2. Middle zone (Yellow)
3. Outer zone or the non-luminous zone (Blue)
Characteristics of these zones are tabulated as follows:

Outermost zone

Temperature

Maximum
|
Combustion
|
Zone of unburnt carbon particles
|
Zone of partial combustion
|
Zone of complete combustion
|
Due to the complete combustion in the outermost zone, the flame appears blue in colour and it is also the hottest part of the flame.
