What modification is done of the Ti plasmid of agrobacterium to convert it into a cloning vector????

Dear student,
Ti plasmid of Agrobacterium tumefaciens is a natural cloning vector. Gene of interest is inserted in the T DNA region of Ti plasmid vector for cloning because T DNA region of Ti plasmid is inserted in plant which causes tumor called crown gall .

viral gene taken out so that it is not now pathogenic

Tumour inducing (Ti) plasmid of Agrobacterium tumifaciens is modified into a cloning vector by removing/altering the gene responsible for its pathogenic property.
This is so, that it does not cause harm but can act as a delivery system for the genes of interest into a variety of plants.                 this is  my ans
