what negative values of the general get reflected in the story" enemy"?
Dear student
The general is clearly a self-centred and selfish person. He does not send Sadao into battle because he wants him to take care of him. When he finds out that there is an American in Sadao's house, he offers to send assassins, but in his self-centred state, forgets to do so. He later tells Sadao not to tell anyone. He realises that he has done a mistake and does not want to be seen as careless, useless or even unpatriotic in the eyes of those around him.
