Lets x number be added to 4, 7, 14, 22So, numbers are 4+x, 7+x, 14+x, 22+x ∵ numbers in the proportion      ∴ 4+x7+x=14+x22+x⇒   4+x22+x=7+x14+x⇒    x2+22x+4x+88=x2+14x+7x+98⇒    5x=10⇒    x=2Hence, 2 should be added
