What opinion do you form of Andrew Manson from this excerpt? Which values can we learn from him ?

From the story we see that Andrew is a good doctor, even though he doubts his own abilities. Until the delivery of the stillborn child which he resuscitated back to life, he had not done anything significant. He considered his own life to be dull and uneventful. Regardless, when he was put on the spot with a lifeless baby, he sprung into action. He went by his instinct and saved the baby even when the nurse had given up hope. We see that behind the listless demeanour, is a true leader and a man of action.
