what r mesomes?

Mesosomes are the infolding of the bacterialcell membrane. These structure are thought to be analogous to the eukaryotic mitochondria. As mitochondri are the site ofrespiration, these mesosomes carry out respiration in the bacteria. So, these are very much rich in the enzymes. Also mesosomes are thought to be involves in the reproduction. It is thought that these structure helps in equal distribution of the genetic material during the bacterial divisionAlso they are thought to help inDNA replicationHoped it helped..

Mesososomes are special membranous structures in prokaryotic cells , which is formed by extensions of plasma memberane into the cell. These extensions are in the form of vesicles, tubules and lamellae. They help in cellwall formation, DNA replication distribution to aughter cells, respiration, secretion processes, to increase the surface area of plasma memberane and other enzymatic content.

Hope this helps.
