What reactions take place in the sark phase of photosynthesis?
Dear student,
Name of the reaction that takes place in dark phase of photosynthesis is Calvin cycle
Phase I: Carbon fixation.
Enzyme that catalyse this reaction is RubisCO. RuBP gets converted into 2 molecultes of 3–phospoglycerate.
Phase II: Reduction.
The previous molecule transforms into 1,3-Bisphosphoglycerate through the action of six ATPs (generated in the light phase), and this compound transforms into G3P through the action of 6 NADPH.
Phase III Regeneration
In this step, regeneration od RuBP takes place with a series of reactions.
