Volatilise refers to the process of converting something into a volatile substance.
Volatile substances are the substances that have the ability to change into vapour form. On adding a volatile solute to the solvent, the vapour pressure of the resulting solution increases because the vapours from the solute also contribute to the total vapour pressure.
