Here are some differences:
(1) Broilers are used for their meat. Layers are used for eggs.
(2) Broilers consume more feed. Layers consume less feed.
(3) Broilers grow faster. Layers grow slower.
[NOTE: You would realise that point Nos. 2 & 3 (faster growing and more meat) are actually required for the chicken to produce more meat.]

BROILERS hope it helps
Meant for meats purposes
Fed lot of vitamins like K and Calcium
Need adequate lighting and healthy conditions
Can be utilised after 6-8 weeks after birth
LAYERS
Meant for layin eggs
Fed adequate roughage
Need healthy clean and not overcrowded conditions
Can be used after 20 weeks

layers meant for egg production where as broilers are meant for poultary meat. nutritional, enviornmental and housing conditions are required by broilers are different then required by the egg layers.A broiler chicken for their propper growth requires vitamins rich supplements espacially vitamin A and K, also their diets includes proteins rich food and enough fat. they also require extra care and maintenance to increase their survival rate in comparision of egg layers

Layers are raised for the production of eggs in large operations but they are culled when egg production drops but on the farm the layers while often used for meat when they get too old to lay are often allowed to live full long lives. Hard work deserves a good retirement, at least on our farm.

Good management practices are essential for the good production of poultry. These are different for broilers and layers. These include maintenance of temperature and hygienic conditions in housing and poultry feed, as well as prevention and control of diseases and pests.
The housing, nutritional and environmental requirements of broilers are different from layers. Broilers are fed with vitamin-rich supplementary feed for good growth rate and better feed efficiency. The ration for broilers is protein rich with adequate fat. Care is taken to avoid mortality and to maintain feathering and carcass quality.
The layers on the other hand show 2 distinct phases in their life i.e. the growing period and laying period. During the growing period, they need enough space. Over-crowding tends to suppress their growth. Feed is given in a restricted and calculated manner. During the laying period, the layers need enough space and adequate lighting. Feed with vitamins, minerals and micronutrients influence the hatching of eggs. Layers are provided with fibrous cheaper diets using agricultural by-products.
HOPE THIS WILL HELP YOU!Thanks!

- The poultry birds groomed for obtaining meat are called broilers.
- The ration (daily food requirement) for broilers should be rich in protein with adequate fat.
- The egg laying birds are called layers
- The level of vitamins A and K should be kept high. Layers require enough space and lighting.

- poultry which is grown for meat
- feed should include vitamin A and K, proteins and fats
- they require conditions to grow fast and they should have low mortality
LAYERS:-
- poultry which is grown for eggs
- feed should include vitamins, minerals, and micronutrients in restricted and calculated amounts.
- they require enough space and adequate lighting

1. Broilers are used for meat purpose while layers are used for eggs.
2. Broilers consume more feed while layers consume less feed.
3. Broilers are raised for short period of time(minimum 7-8 weeks while layers are raised for long period of time.
4. Broilers are chicken raised to produce meats while layers are chicken raised to produce eggs.

Broliers are known for their good quality and for their taste, whereas layers are known for their laying eggs.
Broliers are giving diet rich in protein, adequate fat and vitamin, whereas layers are giving inferior quality fat.

Broilers & Layers significantly differ from each other.
- The primary striking difference is layers are females whereas broilers are unsexed comprising both males and females
- Broilers are reared for meat purpose whereas layers are reared for egg production.
- Broilers attain a body weight of around 2.2- 2.4 kg within 6 weeksbecause of their fast growth on the flip side layers attain a body weight of 1.5–1.8 kg at their sexual maturity (20-22weeks)
- Broilers are reared for a span of 38–42 days and then they are marketed and slaughtered for meat. Layers attain sexual maturity around 20–22 weeks and laying eggs up to 72 weeks of age and then they are either moulted or sold as spent hens.
- Commercially deep litter system of housing is best suited for rearing broilers whereas it is preferred to rear layers in caged housing systems.
- Usually broilers are reared in batches in an allin-allout system in a single rearing shed. Whereas layers are reared as per different growth stages in different sheds ie., Chicks(0-8weeks), growers (9–22 weeks) and layers (23–72 weeks).

Layers are egg-laying birds, managed for the purpose of getting eggs | Broilers are maintained for getting meat. |
Layers start producing eggs at the age of 20 weeks. So they are kept for longer period depending upon layering period(approx. 500 days) | They are raised upto 6-7 weeks in poultry farms and then sent to market for meat purposes |
They require enough space and adequate lighting | They require conditions to grow fast and low mortality. |
They need restricted and calculated feed with vitamins, minerals and micronutrients. | The daily food requirement for broilers is rich in protein and vitamins A and K. The fat should also be adequate |
