Like Iswaran, a good storyteller should have the following qualities:-

1. They should be capable of creating stories that are full of adventure, suspense, entertainment, thrill and horror.
2. The stories told should raise the curiosity level of the listeners. 
3. They should narrate the smallest incident in great detail.
4. They should have the ability to give surprising endings to their stories.
5.  They should have the peculiar ability to turn mundane events into interesting ones.
6. They should give context and background against which they are narrating the story.
