What similarity does the poet find between tigers and men?

Dear Student,

The poem Aunt Jennifer's Tigers talks widely about male chauvinism. It is, in fact, an underlying theme of the poem. Aunt Jennifer's Tigers are a symbol of the free-spirited men, who dominate females. The wedding band on Aunt Jennifer's finger feels heavy because it reminds her of the duties that have been assigned to her by society. She wishes to be free like her creations but is unable to do so.

The poet finds the similarity between men and the tigers that both are confident and brave, the tigers prance in their territory without caring about the hunters, similarly men do whatever they feel like. This is contrary to Aunt Jennifer’s conditions. Hope you got the point.....: )
