What type of Buffer is formed when formic acid and potassium formate are mixed?

Dear Student,
Formic acid (HCOOH) is a weak acid and potassium formate (HCOO-K+) is a salt of a weak acid.
Hence it is an acidic buffer.
An acidic buffer is a mixture of weak acid and salt of its strong conjugate base.
A conjugate base is formed when HCOOH loses a proton to form HCOO-.
