What type of fertilization do the ferns show external or internal?

Ferns reproduction cycle is quite different from other ferns undergoes an alteration of generation from haploid gametophyte and a diploid sporophyte. The ferns produce sporophyte with the process of meiosis like the production of eggs and sperms and it undergoes internal fertilization.
