What type of reaction is FeSO4 + Al = Al2(SO4)3 + Fe and Why ???

Reaction-  3FeSO4 + 2Al Al2(SO4)3 + 3Fe
is a displacement reaction. Metals are arranged according to their reactivity in a reactivity series. Reactivity series is given below -

More reactive metal can replace less reactive metal from their salts. Since Al is placed above than Fe in this series, so it is more reactive than Fe and thus can replace it. So when Al reacts with Iron sulphate then Aluminium sulphate and Iron is formed.

  • 1

displacement reaction. as Al is more reactive than Fe, Al displaces Fe.

  • 3

displacement reaction because the more reactive metal Al displaces the less reactive metal Fe.
