In the story 'The Adventure', when Professor Gaitonde stepped out of the railway station, he was shocked to see a big building which was the East India House Headquarters of the East India Company. He later went to the Forbes building to ask about his son but the receptionist told him that no one named Vinay Gaitonde worked in any of their branches. He was surprised but he thought that his son might not even have been born in this world.
