what was the importance of japan's rise as a great power for the asian continent

Dear student,
The importance of japan's rise as a great power for the Asian continent is as follows :
  • Japanese path to modernisation was built on capitalist principles and took place within a world dominated by Western colonialism.  So, it created a awakening the minds of Asians that its not just the Western or European countries that can develop. Western countries also got to know that even Asia can be civilised and develop on its own.
  • Japanese expansion was justified by the call to resist Western domination and liberate Asia.
  • The rapid development of Japan underlined the strength of tradition in Japanese institutions and society, their ability to learn and the strength of nationalism. This further, made Asian people have faith in their tradition methods of development.
