One of her special friends Mrs. William Thaw, of Pittsburgh had always been kind to Helen and her teacher. Her generosity and wise counsel had never failed Helen and Miss Sullivan. Helen in her novel says that her friends have contributed heavily to her life. The limitations in Helen's life ahve turned into beautiful privileges thanks to her friends love and support. Therefore she was contented o walk serene and happy in the shadow cast by her deprivation.
