What were problems of Indian Farmers during the British rule

Dear Student

(i) During British rule, the forest act affected the cultivators to a great extent.
(ii) Due to the implementation of forest law, the cultivators were not allowed to move freely and were restricted to cultivate in a limited area. They often suffered because of low yields.
(iii) They were forced to pay high amount of tax to use the forest area and land as British took control over the forest property.
(iv) This resulted in rising poverty and cultivators were forcibly displaced from their living place to work and earn.
