Some of the effective speaking strategies that I use are:

Words - I make use of words based on the age and experience of my audience.
Tone - I try to have a firm control on my tone so that I am able to express better.
Body language - I make an effort to pay attention to body language.
Active listener - I listen and understand what the other person is saying.
