What were Surontiko Samin's arguments against government control over forests??
Dear student,
Surontiko Samin was a very poor Javanese peasant farmer born in 1859 in the village , Randublatung in , Java, Indonesia. He raised his voice against the colonial Dutch rule in the 19th and 20th centuries. He argued that the wind, water, earth and wood are natural resources and are not created by the state. So the state does not have the right to own it. Soon a widespread movement started following the ideas of Samin.
Regards.
