Decay of cottage handicraft industries- Increase in import of British goods at normal duties proved a blow to handicrafts.
Economic decline of the peasantry and zamindars- Due to high revnue and strict policy of its collection peasants and zamindars became againest british rule.
Growing unemployement- British policies caused great damage to cottage and handicraft industries.
Inhuman treatment of Indigo Cultivators- British rulers forced peasant section to cultivate indigo and sell them at low prices.
Famine- Severe famines in the 1st half of the 19th centuary caused decrease in the production of food.
