What were the things that professor Gaitonde noticed as the train entered the British Raj territory?

In the story 'The Adventure', as the train entered the British Raj territory, professor Gaitonde noticed that the station was very neat and clean. The staff of the station comprised of many Anglo-Indians and Parsees along with some British officers. When he got out of the station, he saw a huge building which was the East India House Headquarters of the East India Company.
