The author received a very different education at the city school compared to the village school. He studied subjects like English and Science, that his grandmother could not help him with. He also took lessons in music at the school, that his grandmother disapproved of, saying it is indecent. Contrary to the village school, there weren't any lessons on God and religious scriptures.
