what will happen if denitrification does not takes place?

Dear Student,
Denitrification is the process in which nitrates and nitrites are converted to atmospheric nitrogen. If denitrification does not take place , then it will not get returned to the atmosphere and nitrogen will not get recycle in the atmosphere.

All the nitrogen would be bound up and not available for use in the process.

Much like CO (carbon monoxide) binding to hemoglobin in the blood, Soon there is no hemoglobin available to carry O2 and the animal dies from lack of O2. On fix is a transfusion of non=bound blood or for bound cells to dies off and new non-bound hemoglobin to be made.
